National Geographic Kids- Grade K-6
Summary:
This interactive version of the popular magazine includes articles, videos, and games on a variety of topics.

 

Actively Learn - Grades 2 - 12
Summary:
This site has a variety of readings for many grade levels.  Each reading includes questions to assess students comprehension and understanding of text. 
How to Access:
1. Click here.
2. Select “Student Sign Up”
3. Enter the requested information - name and email or username.  Create a password.
4. When it asks if you are joining a teacher’s class, select “No.”  
5. Enter your date of birth, and check that you are signing up at a parent’s direction.
6. Filter by grade level and topic on the left hand side. Topics include both fiction and nonfiction texts in ELA, science, and social studies. *Some of the passages are full length novels and others are short articles. If you want to filter the passages by length, you can do so here also.
7. Select a passage, read, and answer the questions provided. Once you answer a question, it will show you more of the passage and provide additional questions. 

 

Ducksters - Grades 3-8
Summary:
This site provides a variety of readings.  Most readings offer the option to have the reading read-aloud and provides a short comprehension quiz.

 

Ben’s Guide to U.S. Government - Grades 4-11
Summary:
Benjamin Franklin guides you through the US Government with games and activities.
How to Access:
1. Select your age on the left hand side and begin your adventure.
