CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR TEACHERS
Applicants for teaching positions with the Iberia Parish School System must possess, or be eligible for, a Louisiana Teacher's Certificate. To be eligible for a Louisiana Teacher's Certificate, a person must complete a teacher training program, possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and make the qualifying scores on the PRAXIS Exam. The PRAXIS scores are established by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE).
Persons who possess a valid out-of-state teacher's certificate must comply with the PRAXIS requirements to receive a Louisiana Teacher's Certificate.

LOUISIANA CHILD PROTECTION ACT
In accordance with the Louisiana Child Protection Act, all employees if the Iberia Parish School District must submit to fingerprinting and a criminal records check by the Office of the State Police.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMINATION
School bus drivers and lunchroom workers are required, as a condition of employment prior to final approval for active employment, to submit to a pre-employment medical examination by a Board-approved physicial for his/her applicable job classification. In addition to the medical examination, school bus drivers and other heavy equipment drivers are required to submit to drug screening prior to final approval for active employment.
